The time has come – check out our new video for “Universe”:

In the past, we rather focused on making videos for several “bullets” of our Ballads ‘n’ Bullets album, but with our ballad “Universe” we are now breaking this tradition. Filmed at the German island Rügen, this video impressively conveys the spirit of the song through a solo performance by Bastian and also takes the viewer to extraordinary and beautiful spots. However, future videos will feature the other legends again – of course!
Particularly responsible for the video is once again our great team consisting of Daniel Wild, Yannick Bonica, Benjamin Kiesewetter, and last but not least Robert Naumann, as well as other wonderful helpers without whom this video couldn’t have been realized. That is also why we released the slideshow video for “Yue” in advance, as an acknowledgement of our gratitude.

By the way: Some of you might have noticed that this video was released on May 1st. This date is particularly special to us because it was on May 1st, 2010 that we released our very first video for “Pandemonium” (which has been viewed over 150.000 times to date!) and also revealed our homepage http://www.inlegend.de to the public. On that day we truly realized that our team (which not only consists of us band members but also of our great background crew – René, Robert and Lisa) works very well together and that we want to bundle our efforts for a bright future. Amazing things have happened in these two years – so here’s a quick recap of the first chapters of the IN LEGEND book…

It all started in spring 2010 when we presented our limited, hand-made EP Pandemonium that was quickly sold out. To make up for this, we offered all songs of the EP as a free download on our website and a lot of people started to spread the word about IN LEGEND.
From there, things went fast: We signed a record deal with SPV Records, started working on our first album Ballads ‘n’ Bullets (which was finally released worldwide in May 2011), played a lot more great shows and tours with wonderful bands, released a lot of videos and an exclusive YouTube DVD, added a new member to the line-up, released the first IN LEGEND sheet music, etc. etc.

During all this stuff, you guys were always there to support us – some of you were with us from the start and some joined the circle of legends along the way. No matter what – we are very glad to have all of you at our side. It’s incredible to see our street team and fanbase growing bigger and bigger… and which band can say that they were as lucky as to have over 90 supporters create an own shirt with their names on the back in the first year of the band’s existence?!

Yes, thank you all so much – this could not have been possible without any single one of you.
No fans – no bands!

Let’s continue the ride and join us for the next chapter of IN LEGEND history! ;)

some news straight from the headquarter of the legends! After our obligatory April Fool’s joke, feel free to take these news seriously ;)

Since February, you are hopefully enjoying our video for “Soul Apart”, and you can already look forward to a new one to be released in May. This time, “Universe” got a nice video that was shot at a German island called Rügen. As an appetizer, you can watch this slideshow video:

Today we have a huge announcement to make: We are gonna release a remix album for our debut album Ballads ‘n’ Bullets in summer, most likely at the end of June / beginning of July. It will be called Ballads ‘n’ Bullets – The Rural Sessions and it will be released as a special, limited collector’s item.

With this remix album, all of you should prepare yourselves to experience IN LEGEND from a totally new and different side. All songs of our debut album are being re-interpreted with an accordion/harmonica and an ukulele – there will be no piano sounds on the album. We think this new approach really shows off the versatility of IN LEGEND’s sound and thus we are very excited to hear your feedback on the new versions. Don’t worry, though: We will definitely not abandon the piano for good in the future – we just want you to know that we also have some other talents and that we are brave enough to always try something new. And we also wanted to give all of you fans something special that you haven’t heard before and that might surprise you.

We will keep you posted on this! For now, here you can already take a look at the album cover and listen to some first rough demo snippets:

To get a better sense of the underlying story of the video, here is what Bastian had to say about it:
>> “Soul Apart” describes the consequences that the pure experiences after having been in a conflict with the depraved, while it detaches itself from it and turns away. Doing so, it was not really our intention to work up the lyrics in the video but we rather wanted to give the lyrics a whole new visual dimension accompanying the music. In a brash and degenerate environment, one individual manages to free himself by using the power of his own imagination and the given means to his own advantages. Instinct and a strong will hold his soul together and prevent him from being led astray by his perception. Those are important means to spread out your own wings.<<

Happy New Year 2012!

We are right in between the two tour blocks of the No Silence To The End Tour with VAN CANTO and ORDEN OGAN and already had some time to write our tour diary for the first show in Pirmasens on December 28. The tour couldn’t have started better! As you might know from the previous tours, we will now continue to write down our experiences and special moments while being on the road and also add some nice photos, so check back regularly to read the entries for all shows!

Besides, you can all especially look forward to our show this Friday (2011-12-09) at Christmas Metal Open Air in Geiselwind (GER) because at that show we are gonna sell our new, exclusive IN LEGEND sheet music for the first time! It contains all notes of the Pandemonium EP songs and also the notes for “Universe”. The book will be available for a fair price and of course we will also sell it during the upcoming tour with VAN CANTO! Unfortunately, at this point we can’t exactly say when it will also be available in our official merch store but we are working on it and will let you know as soon as possible! ;)

We already wish all pianists and your piano teachers lots of fun while playing our tunes, and of course we count on your dexterity!

In the end we wanted to inform you about an issue that rather concerns Bastian than the whole band, but this doesn’t make it less important: In fact, Basti’s other band VAN CANTO has the chance to bring their a-cappella musical Peer’s Return (that he also helped compose) to a real theater stage! The only thing you need to do is to write an e-mail to the Thalia Theater in Hamburg (GER) and vote for the piece! HERE you can read the exact instructions – and yes, you can also participate if you are not from Germany! Please help make a dream come true for Inga and the guys! Thank you very much!!

But that’s not the only special thing about the video: It is in fact also a part of our new exclusive IN LEGEND YouTube DVD – a unique multimedia project that we had been working on for some while. With the help of a self-designed menu screen, all songs of our debut album are put together to a manually selectable DVD. In order to make this happen, every song of the album gets an own video – either an official music video or a slideshow video made up of band photos from various occasions. As a special feature, it is also possible to make the songs’ lyrics move along with the video synchronously.

And as a thank-you to all of you supporters out there, we not only make all videos available for your viewing pleasure on our YouTube channel, BUT we also give them away as free downloads! So check out the new “Download” page on here! As of right now, the first five songs of the album are available in the DVD – the other ones are yet to come.

At this point we want to take the time to say thank-you to the guys (and of course the gal!) from VAN CANTO who have been extremely helpful and supportive from the beginning and with whom we could already share some amazing live moments. All of this couldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for this band! That’s why we are also very happy that VAN CANTO and their fourth album Break The Silence entered the official German album charts at #23 in the first week of release, and strongly recommend buying the record!
