2011-01-07: Cologne (GER) – Essigfabrik
Tour Diary
Still happy after the great start of the last tour block, we arrived in Cologne at the Essigfabrik. What a terrific venue: Not only was it really huge, but we could also literally drive our van in front of the stage, which made us feel really comfortable. The unloading went off quickly. The crew, which already took care of us in Bochum, might have thought that they had already seen the true dimension of our insanity – but we could top that: As soon as Daniel’s huge part of the machine was unloaded, I really regret not having a camera with me in order to capture the crew’s shocked faces.
Later it turned out that Cologne was indeed a furious show and also the best show of our tour to date! The people in Cologne were partying and were definitely up for a great night filled with music – it was just so much fun. Orden Ogan really got the crowd wild, and when we entered the stage, Pandemonium was already raging in the people’s heads. The people sang along so incredibly loud that at some point I simply wanted to listen, and therefore turned away from the mic for some parts – this literally gave me the creeps! Daniel did his damnedest, Dennis was beating all the frustrations of the past days out of his drumkit (because during the previous shows he could simply stroke his drumset instead of beating it, thanks to the rather small locations). Cologne was fantastic! A lot of supporters also made their way to the show, and once again I got to notice that we simply have the best fans in the world! The first three rows had virtually been reserved for the supporters – this was more than legendary!!
Now we are heading back South – Schweinfurt awaits us!
