2011-01-06: Frankfurt (GER) – Batschkapp
Tour Diary
Yeah – finally we can go back on the road!
After having completed the last two blocks of the tour with a smaller setup, we would now take the whole “engine room” with us. With a big bus and additional trailer containing all machines, we head off to new adventures.
As for now, we have gotten used to the surprised looks of the venue’s crew after first being exposed to the turbine-powered sewing machine, then to Daniel‘s monstrous monkey bar, and finally to Daniel himself… “And all of that stuff is for the support act?!” – Yeah, right – that’s show business!
The Batschkapp is a nice venue – unfortunately, though, their own mixing console (which has the approximate size of a church organ), has to remain at its ancestral place. Well – this would turn into a cosy and warm matter! Orden Ogan totally heat up the place, then it’s our turn. The hall darkens, the intro starts, adrenaline is pumping… and then suddenly the intro stops… Uhh – what happened?
Turning over to Dennis, we get to know that he was the one to blame because his in-ear didn’t work. Okay then. The crowd cheers – let’s try this again! This time it works, and a furious gig follows up! Frankfurt was a lot of fun. Once more it’s great to see how many people are already able to sing along to songs like “Pandemonium”, “Heya” or “The Healer”. “Vortex” even causes a small circle pit. We are happy, the audience is heated up – Daniel and Dennis run over to the merch booth and I get ready for the Van Canto show.

@Mirit this was during the setup of the In Legend Stage ;)
i think, the first picture doesn’t belong to the frankfurt gig. I don’t remember Basti wearing a van canto sweat shirt while playing keyboard. But maybe the pic was taken during a check?
