In Legend – Hand Hammered Piano Craft 2012-01-26 – IN LEGEND on the Road // Vote for Us!

Hey folks!

After you gave our debut best reviews this year’s Wacken Open Air (the biggest heavy metal festival in the world) that takes place from August 4 – August 6 in Wacken near Hamburg (Germany) is going to be legendary!

Okay… Before you get your hopes up too high: No, IN LEGEND are not gonna play there… BUT Bastian’s other band VAN CANTO will perform at the Party Stage on Friday afternoon AND some great IN LEGEND fans have in fact organized a special camp at the festival where the IN LEGEND community can meet up and party together. Having a “Wacken camp” by the way means that at least 50 persons have come together in order to reserve a separate camp space!

We think that this is really damn awesome and definitely deserves to be mentioned here! And the best thing: The Wacken camp is still taking registrations! So if you happen to attend the festival and would love to join the circle of legends, just write a quick e-mail to wacken@inlegend.de and provide the following information:

• exact amount of persons
• your names
• your cellphone numbers
• your e-mail addresses
• the amount and the exact sizes of your tents (please differentiate between smaller tents for up to 3 persons and big tents for > 4 persons)
• if you are coming by car or not (–> there will be parking possibilities for your car right at the camp space!)

Registration ends at June 26, so reserve your spot now! You all rock!!

YES – we have scored our first title story in one of Germany’s biggest scene mags – Orkus! They had the following to say about us and our debut album Ballads ‘n’ Bullets:

SPV / Oblivion-Steamhammer signs challenging band worldwide!

Traditionally, most rock bands are dominated by guitars. Not so the case with IN LEGEND, where the mother of all instruments is the “key” component: The piano. With an uncompromising feeling for hard and flowing melodies, the ivories are hammered by Bastian Emig to an as of right now unexplored extreme. [...]

Band leader Bastian Emig has the following to say: “I’m very happy to be with SPV because they really understand what IN LEGEND is all about. And the combination of Oblivion and Steamhammer is 100% what of what we aim at!”

In consequence of Daniel being kicked out of the band by Bastian after he got his long hair cut (on the grounds that they are now lacking someone to sweep the stage planks after the show and because all short-haired musicians are unworthy to play in the band in general!), Dennis also left the band at his own request.

But this sounds worse than it is… Due to Basti’s great looks, replacement was found easily, as you can see at the picture below. Unfortunately, the two girls can neither play drums nor hold a bass, but at least they can compete with Daniel in terms of hair length – and, you know, at live shows it’s all playback nowadays, therefore one has to make some sacrifices and rather focus on the appearance!

Anyway: The debut album Ballads ‘n’ Bullets will still be out on May 20 in Germany (or May 23 in Europe and June 14 in the USA/Canada) and can already be preordered HERE!

Tonight (Nov 3rd), Bastian will make an exclusive appearance at Berlin Metal TV and will talk about some cool stuff. The show starts at 8 P.M. (GMT +1)! Find more details and the live stream HERE! If you understand some German, we surely recommend checking it out!

Wow – even though we have only been actively around as a band for like 3 months, some of you fans in our message board just can’t wait for the official IN LEGEND merchandise and therefore already want to show their support by wearing a special, self-designed fan shirt.

Of course we think this totally rocks, and thus we are excited about every other fan joining the ranks of these diehard fans and ordering an unofficial IN LEGEND Supporter Shirt.

Yeah, we know the discussion is solely held in German and with German fans as of right now but if several international fans would also be interested in a shirt (please tell us if you are!), we might find a cool solution to please all of you!
