In Legend – Hand Hammered Piano Craft Daniel Wicke – The Bass Cyclone

Daniel Wicke is in fact one of these phenomena which already at first sight convey the impression that they not only belong to the big stages of this world, but were most likely also be procreated on them. Passion is his biggest drive, and it is exactly this kind of passion that has made him pursue his career as an exceptional bass player for 15 years now.

His most important influences have always been traditional rock and heavy metal bands such as AC/DC and IRON MAIDEN. When he was still a young rocker, he once experienced a real turning point in his life when he became witness to the playing of his all-time idol Steve Harris. By then, he was completely hooked. With the constant goal in mind to become a faster player than MAIDEN’s mastermind, Daniel started playing in various metal bands from early on and soon turned into a leading figure in the German bass playing scene. Being a member of his first band JESTER’S FUNERAL, he already got to play with Bastian in the early years of both of their careers, and they later also happened to share stages across the country as members of THE RAZORBLADES.

However, contrary to Bastian, Daniel is still a permanent member of this surf rock ‘n’ roll formation that gives him the opportunity to regularly tour across Europe. It is in those occasions where Daniel is really able to live out his passion: Going on tour, firing up the mighty propeller in a different city every day, and transforming the energy of the music to the audience – this is the life that he wants to live.

But Daniel “the Wicked” also likes the extremes in his remaining time aside from the music: When he doesn’t sweep the stage planks of this world with his exorbitantly long hair, he works in the critical care unit of a hospital. Here he nurses and takes care of his patients with the same conscientiousness as with all of his other endeavors – and of course always with a proper portion of metal at hand!
